Your New Neighborhood

In the early 1900s, an author named Edgar Rice Burroughs started writing novels. By 1919, his story “Tarzan of the Apes” became so successful that he decided to purchase a large ranch north of Los Angeles. He named this ranch “Tarzana,” and the ranch’s nearby citizens voted to keep that name when the official community of Tarzana, CA was formed in 1927. Today, residents of Tarzana have many opportunities for entertainment and recreation. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of the walking paths, fishing spots, and boating and picnic adventures available at Balboa Park.

The nearby Ventura Boulevard district offers both indoor and outdoor experiences for shopping, dining, and more. Theatres, malls, and artistic venues are just waiting for you to make their discovery, and the Sunday Farmer’s Market is a don’t-miss event. No matter what your taste, budget, or time commitments are, the San Fernando Valley is full of things you’re sure to love.

Beyond the Neighborhood

When your adventures take you beyond the San Fernando Valley, you can count on great transportation to get you there. From Tarzana, the Universal City Orange Metro Line connects to Downtown Los Angeles, Universal City, and Warner City within just a few minutes. It also provides easy access to Encino and the 101 (Ventura) and I-405 (San Diego) freeways.

No matter what brings to you Tarzana, the San Fernando Valley is a great place to call home. Stay in the neighborhood or explore beyond—and The Newporter Apartment community will be peacefully waiting for you to come home.
