Your New Neighborhood
In the early 1900s, an author named Edgar Rice Burroughs started writing novels. By 1919, his story “Tarzan of the Apes” became so successful that he decided to purchase a large ranch north of Los Angeles. He named this ranch “Tarzana,” and the ranch’s nearby citizens voted to keep that name when the official community of Tarzana, CA was formed in 1927.
Today, residents of Tarzana have many opportunities for entertainment and recreation. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of the walking paths, fishing spots, and boating and picnic adventures available at Balboa Park. The nearby Ventura Boulevard district offers both indoor and outdoor experiences for shopping, dining, and more.
